Our Partners and Funders

We don’t do this alone.

Every tree, garden and forest on this site exists because organisations around the world chose to back Kenyan-led restoration. Thank you to our partners and funders.

Milkywire is a Swedish impact-funding platform that channels corporate and individual giving directly to vetted, grassroots environmental organisations worldwide. Miti Alliance is a supported project in Milkywire’s Forests and Landscapes Fund portfolio, and has partnered with Milkywire on tree-planting and seedball campaigns — including the #GreeningHolidays initiative in Githurai, on Nairobi’s outskirts, working alongside CKL Africa and student environmental groups.

I&M Foundation is the shared-value arm of I&M Bank Kenya, funded through an annual endowment equal to 2% of the bank’s profit before tax, focused on education and skills, environmental conservation, economic empowerment and enabling giving. I&M Foundation is Miti Alliance’s largest current programme partner: together we run Mazingira Day tree-planting events and a flagship Miyawaki pocket-forest programme reaching seven I&M Bank branch communities — Nanyuki, Nyeri, Meru, Meru Makutano, Embu, Kenol and Thika — including a five-year partnership with Embu University.

MakeWay supports Miti Alliance’s restoration and community programmes as part of its wider network of environmental and charitable initiatives.

SUGi is a global non-profit that funds and supports Miyawaki-method micro-forests around the world, working with a global network of “Forest Makers.” Michael Waiyaki is SUGi’s certified Forest Maker for Kenya, and SUGi has supported several of Miti Alliance’s forests, including Self Sustaining Naru Moru, Msitu Classroom, St Paul’s Unity Forest and Woodland Star — four of our eleven documented Miyawaki forests to date

Cittadinanza is an Italian non-profit organisation supporting Miti Alliance’s nutrition and wellness training programmes, with the partnership renewed through 2027.

CKL Africa’s Eco Care Programme is a Kenyan agribusiness-led initiative that has propagated and distributed over 1.7 million tree and fruit seedlings to smallholder farmers, licensed by Kenya’s Horticultural Crops Directorate and KEPHIS. Miti Alliance has worked alongside CKL Africa on community tree-planting drives, including the #GreeningHolidays campaign in Githurai.
